In 2005 Shannon and Matt Brown discovered a mutual love for hourglasses completely by accident.  

The couple were brainstorming ways for Shannon to continue to be a stay-at-home Mom and still have an income.  Before long they had created an online store featuring products made in their home state of Nebraska (the now defunct Nebraskagoods.com).

Along the way Shannon was able to find a gentleman who produced gorgeous sand timers from the workshop on his farm.  After visiting the workshop to learn how the hourglasses were made and seeing just how stunning they were in person they realized they might be onto something.  The hourglasses quickly became the star of the online store.  

The next year JustHourglasses.com was born.
