Cherry Hourglass With White, Swirled Natural or Light Brown Sand 60 Minute

I've written a mystery manuscript (coming in 2027), The Listener, about a retired investigative reporter who sits and listens to people and uses an hourglass to control the length of the sessions (his penance). I searched for an hourglass that matched my vision - and this cherry hourglass is perfect. The quality, style and care with which it was delivered were first rate. A great value. It sits on my desk and I turn it each time I write.

Its a beautiful piece and it was packaged well. But I have to say that it is not perfectly held upright in the wooden case. Its a little off center/slanted. I see another review saying the same thing. Im a little disappointed because im a bit of a perfectionist. But I will still love this pice and it is still beautiful.

This hourglass looks great. It is now the centre piece of my little reading area. And, for some shifting sand, it is pretty close to actually being a 1-hour hourglass - 61 minutes and 48 seconds - not bad at all.

I am completely satisfied with my new hourglass. Some would say this is corny and clichéd, but fuck them! I had a great experience with ordering and enjoying my new old school way of telling time! As a famously known quote would say,”Like sands through the hourglass”!

Always wanted sand timer!

The hourglass came in pristine condition, thanks to the ample supply of bubble wrap and Styrofoam pads within the packaging. I did not realize the timer had been separated from the frame for additional safety during shipping, but building it back was no problem. There was even an instruction sheet to help, though I found out on my own. I would recommend maybe slipping the instruction sheet within the wrapping of the frame or the timer so that it cannot be missed.

The hourglass itself is a sight to behold. I selected the natural sand option and I found out that, when shining light at it the right way, the sand sparkles in an incredible way, to the point where my friends to whom I showed the picture thought it was some sort of special sand. The only downside that I noticed is that the sand does stick to the hourglass a little towards the end (which is to be expected, really), but since it is a large timer, that can equate to about 30 seconds' worth of sand. Not really a big deal imo since you can just gently tap the top of the frame to shake the sand loose.

I did regret not selecting an engraving to embellish this piece of art even further, but it is still an amazing addition to my collection as it is. I will most likely buy again <3

It is very pretty and seems quite sturdy. The time is over and hour by about 15 minutes, i knew it wasnt going to be exact. 15 min doesnt ruin it for me but i am utilizing this for a timed event im running so that a slight dissapointment. Either way im very happy with the product

There were some problems, a first clock came broken but with the help of Shannon they sent another quickly. The second the transport company sent the other one from the coast of the United States, but still arrived on time. Despite the problems demonstrated an excellent service, warranty and after-sales service.

I put myself on the email list for when this was in stock. The day I got the email I ordered one.

I surfed the internet for hour glass sites, finding mostly super expensive "modern" styled ones. But this classic OG of an hour glass caught my eye...and when my order arrived, I was beyond pleased.

The red/Brown tint of the wood is a strong tone. Also, I looked specifically for white sand, finding minimal results. But the sand it comes with is.. clean, fresh, crisp. Satisfyingly pure.

This is a beautiful hourglass! Real cherry wood, smooth polished glass, and snow white sand make this hourglass a quality piece. Although mine runs a couple of minutes over 60 mins, I used it in a photo shoot for album artwork right out of the box. Everything about the purchase was smooth and seamless. My dad loved this!! It's beautiful wood. Little bit pricey. Also, I clocked the sand at 65 minutes instead of 60. But overall very nice product.

We purchased a Cherry Hourglass last year for the first time to see how we liked the item for an outgoing Board President's gift. It was really pretty and a nice way to mark the passage of the recipient's time as our president. The company is really great to work with. Responds quickly and very patient during the decision process. We decided to purchase 5 of the same hourglass this year to make it our regular gift for the Board President. They all arrived great; one hourglass was a little wiggly. This I feel was something that happened in shipping as the hourglasses are inspected before shipment. I contacted the company and was walked through a very quick and easy fix for my concern. All is well and I look forward to giving this hourglass as this year's gift and for years to follow.

I would have preferred natural sand, but I was impatient.
Natural sand is always out of stock. That kind of stinks.

This glass has feet.
I did not look closely enough at the picture.
If I had seen the feet, I would not have bought it.
Feet make it unstable.

I bought this as an anniversary gift with the custom engraving. Very beautiful and unique. My only complaint is the actual part that's engraved is smaller than I thought it would be.
