This custom Signature Collection hourglass is handcrafted from solid granadillo wood grown in Central America and is the newest in our Signature lineup. A beautiful wood, its denseness makes it very strong and durable and it finishes very smoothly. The color is a rich reddish brown with black streaking. Like all wood, granadillo varies in graining and color - no two are alike. Combined with glass bulbs hand-blown in England, this classic piece is stunning.

As with all wood each piece will vary slightly in graining and color making each hourglass unique. Hourglasses are handmade so sizes are approximate.

You assemble, no sand - for customers who want to add their own sand (i.e. two different colors). Note: globe provided has a larger hole to accommodate different types of sand so timer accuracy is not ensured.
You assemble, sand included - for customers who want a more accurate hourglass. The natural sand you see pictured comes with your kit.

Everything exactly as I ordered

I couldn't have been more satisfied with my order. I am surprising my wife with the hourglass for our 40th wedding anniversary on a trip to the Grand Hotel at Mackinac Island. The detailed artwork I supplied was followed to a tee in the laser engraving and the round plaque inset into the opposite end. For the laser engraved end I provided a circle that represented the end of the hourglass and then put the artwork into the inside of the circle so that they would know the size of the engraving I wanted. It turned out perfect. On the other end I did the same thing for the brass plaque and it also turned out perfect down to the same font. I was concerned that the plaque would be inset into the wood so that it wouldn't rub or get scratched and it was perfectly inset into the wood so not concerns. I ordered mine assembled and it was shipped very securely no damage. The wood is beautiful and the detail carving in the spindles is very nice.
