This handblown, clear freestanding hourglass with its clean lines and simple design makes a wonderful vessel to hold your own sand. Great for wedding sand ceremonies! Also available with marble bases or a crystal base which can be left plain or engraved to give it a little more height and elegance (please fill out engraving request form before purchase for options/costs if wanting to add engraving).

Not a great solution …

The opening in the center isn’t large enough for the ashes - I ground them in a coffee grinder plus added real sand to help anything from sticking to the sides - it’s a complete flop

I'm sorry you had difficulty! However, the hourglass you purchased is meant for sand not cremains. You may just need to add more sand to help them flow - ashes are light and generally need help even in our urn hourglasses :-).

What does the plug look like? I'm curious how it will look in the glass once you've filled the hourglass.

JustHourglasses

You have two options for sealing this hourglass and both comes with the kit. A small, round, flat silver cap comes from the glass blower but we also include a flat, clear acrylic one as well to blend into the glass. Either can be used to permanently seal the globe :-).
