The timer is composed of antique wood spools found in abandoned textile mills in England. The spindles and wooden base were used from 1939-1945 during World War II in a factory in Barrowford Mill, Nelson. This bobbin sand timer has a ribbed edge and pewter accents. A vintage thread spool sticker is placed on the base to give it even more character.

As with all antique and hand-made items, the colors and decorations vary slightly. We consider this to be a special part of their history and character. Shown fully assembled.

Great find!

We bought this for our son to fill with sand he brought back from the Sahara Desert on one of his Army deployments. Such an amazing way to store the sand. Very easy to assemble and fill. We will definitely be doing this again if he brings back another water bottle filled with sand.
