Solid Cherry Wood Hourglass With Smooth Spindles

The hourglass is beautiful! There is custom engraving on the top which came out wonderful!. Customer service was spectacular from the personalization, switching the sand color, to expedited shipping and was the best purchase experience I have ever had.
This was an anniversary present to my husband and he adores it.

The 5 minute cherry hourglass is beautiful! Excellent craftmanship - the carving of the beautiful wood and the blown glass. The customer service was excellent. It makes a stunning desk piece while also serving a practical function as needed. I gave it as a gift and it was very much appreciated. It is a very classic piece.

I purchased one recently as a special 60th birthday gift for a close friend. I .assembled and filled the hourglass with sand from a beach we were on together in 2015. This is the second hourglass I’ve given like this. My friends are thrilled and it’s such a personal gift. Despite the high postage cost to Australia, I think it’s well worth the money.. Definitely a unique and quality product.

I bought this as a gift and it is really beautiful. The size is perfect, the wood was light cherry and beautiful. Great craftsmanship and a short story about the artist is included. Highly recommend.

The wood is nicely sanded, It keeps time, and is just the right size for where i wanted to put it.

Beautiful hourglass!

I am a returning customer and each purchasing experiences has been outstanding. In both instances I have purchased hourglasse kits not to be used as hourglasses but to display things I have collected. The first hourglass kit was purchased to display soil (dirt) from a friend’s ancestral home in Ireland. The most recent purchase was used to display sand from the five invasion beaches at Normandy. The completed hourglasses are great for this type of display and make excellent conversation pieces. I will be a returning customer again in the near future.

Just wanted to provide some feedback on the timing accuracy of the hourglass. The advertised accuracy is within +/- 10% which would be 6 minutes variance (over 60 min) and the hourglass seems to be mostly within this range.

Over multiple tests, at different temperatures, the temperature seems to be the controlling factor in how accurate in timing the hourglass/sand timer runs.

50F = within 3 minutes (60 min hour)
80F = within 7 minutes (60 min hour)

30F (degrees temp variance)
4 minutes (timing variance)

The very approximate rule of thumb, appears to be:
For every 7.5F degrees
The hourglass runs 1 minute quicker (shorter in time)

Not as big as I had hoped. But still very nice. Engraving done perfectly.

It would have been nice to get a little bit bigger one for the price we paid. But the hourglass looks nice. Also would have liked to have gotten a funnel along with it.

I purchased this for my friend as a gift. He appreciated it and thought it was a nice 'different' sophisticated kind of gift. I had plates laid on the ends and it came out beautiful. The cherry wood was a little lighter in color than i expected but it still looks wonderful.

I have this hourglass on the corner of my desk and use it daily. My co-workers have commented on how beautiful and unique it is. It is surprisingly accurate - I timed over 100 separate uses of the hourglass and the average time was 60:15 (+- 7 seconds on most instances largely based on room temperature). I am pleased with the purchase.
