Solid Cocobolo Wood Hourglass With Smooth Spindles

This is the second hourglass I have purchased from just hourglasses. The timing is perfect, and the wood has a beautiful sheen.

Quality well built just a bit more red than I wanted for it's new spot !! I like it. Got the cherry hourglass also. It is nice too.. Always wanted a quality hourglass piece and now I have two!!! Very nice. Thank You

I bought the fill-it-with-sand-and-assemble-yourself kit so that my wife and I could fill the hourglass with sand from our honeymoon. The hourglass kit came with all required parts and detailed, complete instructions for assembly. You could tell that the author had actually assembled these hourglasses before with care and wanted customers to be successful by including a lot of helpful tips (keeping out moisture, using a deadblow hammer to avoid wood damage, etc.). Those touches made assembly painless and professional in quality. The glass hourglass itself was symmetric and strong, and the wood components feel durable and look beautiful.

I received excellent customer support in completing the order with the engraving I wanted and getting the order shipped on time to make the wedding day.

Overall, I was very pleased from start to finish, and I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a unique memorable gift.

i purchased the cocobolo hourglass to fill with our own sand from a place we consider to be very important. I could not have been more pleased. The craftsmanship is high quality, as evidenced by both the beautiful appearance and the ease of assembly. It fit together perfectly. The plate we ordered with engraving is beautiful and, to our surprise, it is inset in the top piece of wood rather than glued on top. While it would have been easy to beat the price of a fillable hourglass, I do not think that the quality and beauty of this piece could have been beaten. It was worth every penny-and with our sand, it will be a family heirloom handed down generations to come. We are thrilled. Thank you to the extremely helpful staff for your assistance. Contacted company before ordering and they were able to confirm I would get the hourglass when needed.

The product was beautiful but the quote in the engraving was misspelled.

It was very disappointing that nobody in the process of shipping the product caught the mistake. The process of returning the product and getting my refund was cumbersome giving the fact that I have to ship and handle the return because of your company mistake. In addition I have to wait between 1-2 weeks for you to return my shipping costs.

My hourglass is in the beautiful cocobolo wood which looks wonderful with an inscription engraved into the wood. I couldn't be more pleased.

This beautiful hour glass handcrafted from exotic wood displays excellent workmanship and is attractive well made and purposeful. It could be used in any office or room in the house to time 15 minutes. It is also a lovely decorative item.

I don't think this hourglass could be improved in any way.
It times exceedingly close to one hour (usually within 30 seconds) and it's a really relaxing way to make sure I don't spend too long wasting time. There's no anticipation of a harsh alarm sound and all it takes to check how much time is left is a glance.
The hourglass is also beautiful and it's very relaxing and enjoyable just watching the sand flow from one chamber to the other. The wood is a magnificent colour I've never seen anything like it.

This is a really great product that looks even better in person than on the web site. I've gotten a lot of complements on this hourglass over the years. And on the several times I've timed it it has been within 30 seconds of its 2-hour rating.

Prompt and trouble-free order and delivery.

We purchased this hourglass with a 1 hour globe to fill during our wedding sand ceremony (our wedding was 8/28/2011). It's a stunning product--and the wedding photos turned out fantastic.

The only downside was difficulty in finding sand that worked as the globe that came with sand was not available in our timeframe. Customer service recommended the sand from sandsationalsparkle; however we discovered that the sand stuck to the sides of the hourglass and did not flow properly. We finally found some sand that worked from our local craft store; however the flow time is way less than the hour advertised for the globe we purchased (in fact less than 30 minutes).

Delivery was quick.

The only comment i have is that I would have loved this Hourglass even more if I could have gotten it with the other center sticks not the solid straight one but the one with the knot in the center I think those are more attractive - otherwise this is a beautiful timeless piece and everyone comments about it.

When I purchased it I was assisted wonderfully - its been a while now but I believe her name was Linda. She helped me with every aspect I had questions on - she always returned my calls or e-mails and when she told me it would be delivered it was. So all in all it was an enjoyable buying experience.
