Solid Cocobolo Wood Hourglass With Spiral Spindles

This was a gift and the first words out of the recipient's mouth were, "This is so beautiful! I love the wood! It is gorgeous! And the hourglass is protected too!" She loved the fact that we'd had the top and bottom engraved and loves the quality of the hourglass. For me, the company was so easy to work with. This product gets five stars from me, after an ordeal, it was well worth it. I had it personalized intending to give it as a gift. I got the delivery notification and went home excited and picked up the box and sand came pouring out of the bottom, my hourglass was broken. I emailed the customer service team and was met with a reply containing profuse apologies and a shipping label requesting that it be sent back for repair immediately. It arrived just a couple days ago in perfect working order, and it is absolutely gorgeous. Thank you to the craftsman and the wonderful customer service team!

This hourglass and the custom engraving were even more wonderful than I had hoped for. Stunning! The photo on the website is nice but doesn't truly do it justice.

The hourglass itself is beautiful! Directions for assembly are also easy to follow.

However assured that it's designed to work with almost any sand. I found the sand that doesn't work. I did test a small amount as directed but not a lot as I didn't want it to look used. On my wedding day the sand just stacked in the top and would not be forced into falling as hoped.

My husband and I had to dump out the sand we poured on our wedding day and had to re-pour with sand that we found of a slightly smaller grain in the wrong color combo in order to get the hourglass to work as it should and to finish assembly.

The craft and care that went into this hourglass was over the top and we were both more than delighted to have this as our sand ceremony vessel for our wedding on Sept. 19th 2015. The finish brought out the most beautiful aspect of the grain and complimented the globe perfectly.

The Hourglass was shipped with more care and security than Fort Knox with every individual piece having its own foam encasing while being taped with masking tape to keep from any need of a knife to open so you would not scratch the contents inside. The only issue that I had personally with the overall was that we could not find any multi-selection sand meant for the hourglass on the site as we used a black teal and white. it would also have helped to have the option of a glass funnel for the filling of the hourglass just to up the presentation although we did make due with using some clear wrapping paper and tape. Otherwise the service was phenomenal product was amazing and final delivery time was exceptional and above standards.

I brought this hour glass for my mom as a Christmas gift. She had been looking for one for years nowbut every time she had come across one it wasn't well made. So I started searching for one online but all I would see are these cheaply put together $20 hour glasses on EBay. As I keep looking I came across JustHourGlass.com. It seem to me that the product looked well made but I was skeptical. So to my surprise when I received the package and took out the hour glass from the box I was ecstatic to see how well made it wasabi how much pride the craftsman took in his work. So when Christmas came and my mom opened her gift it was one of those priceless moments. So thank you for makeing such a beautiful hour glass.

This hourglass is beautiful and is spot on within a minute of being an 'hour' glass. I use it most days - sometimes I just like watching the sand fall and I've used it as a timer when baking something that takes an hour. All this said on at least three separate occasions the sand gets 'stuck'. I gentle tap on the glass will start again and fortunately it's not happened when I was using it as a timer. Otherwise it's definitely a five star but because of this I am only giving it four stars. The Cocobolo wood is gorgeous and heavy - and the craftsmanship is top notch. This is just what I wanted.
