Solid Granadillo Wood Hourglass With Spiral Spindles

I couldn't have been more satisfied with my order. I am surprising my wife with the hourglass for our 40th wedding anniversary on a trip to the Grand Hotel at Mackinac Island. The detailed artwork I supplied was followed to a tee in the laser engraving and the round plaque inset into the opposite end. For the laser engraved end I provided a circle that represented the end of the hourglass and then put the artwork into the inside of the circle so that they would know the size of the engraving I wanted. It turned out perfect. On the other end I did the same thing for the brass plaque and it also turned out perfect down to the same font. I was concerned that the plaque would be inset into the wood so that it wouldn't rub or get scratched and it was perfectly inset into the wood so not concerns. I ordered mine assembled and it was shipped very securely no damage. The wood is beautiful and the detail carving in the spindles is very nice.

The hourglass is beautiful. We used the kit in our wedding ceremony and it was perfect. We received a ton of complements about it. It really is a creative twist on the more traditional sand ceremony. We my husband and I have two sayings that we tell each other before going to bed every night 'I love you to the moon and back' and 'I love you forever and for always' so we had these engraved on the top and bottom of the hourglass. For us the hourglass represents our never ending love as the sand represents time and it moves across space. The only thing that could be improved on is the instructions on what to do with the sticky stuff and the cap that goes on the glass after the sand is poured. It is just a little confusing if you aren't a handy person. I was able to figure it out eventually though.
