Solid Padauk Hourglass With Smooth Spindles

We recently purchased a Solid Padauk Hourglass for our granddaughter. We wanted to use it to help teach her the value time. We had the hourglass custom engraved.

This particular hourglass contains soil from a Civil War prisoner of war camp. The quality and workmanship of the hourglass is outstanding. On this hourglass I had the top laser engraved …… it is perfect. The staff at Just Hourglasses is easy to work with and wants to ensure that you receive a quality item. The Padauk wood is a beautiful warm reddish wood that complements the red clay soil that it now contains. I can not say enough good things about this company, their product and their staff. It is indeed a beautiful piece. We could not afford a larger hourglass so we are trying to figure out a way to make it work in the wedding. We thought a funnel of some sort would be included. Do you have a suggestion on what we can use?

A very beautiful hourglass both the wood and the glass are very nice manufactured. The hole through which to add the sand is a little small and getting the correct amount is a little challenging.

I ordered this in a larger size and it really is very impressive and was worth the extra money - in fact it looks larger than I expected. The larger sizes are only available with plain spindles and I would have liked to get it with spiral ones.
