I’ve been a fan of HP since the books were first released during my childhood. Of the movie franchise, the third movie has ALWAYS been my favorite adaptation. When my 11yr old best four-legged friend was diagnosed with kidney failure, I knew I wanted to have something special for her resting place. I came across the idea of an hourglass and found this website. After her cremation, my two-legged best friend helped me use a metal tea-ball to sift the finer cremains so there was no clogging in the hourglass. Mixed with a bit of Coney Island sand, where I found my four-legged best friend as a puppy, this piece is both beautiful and functional with the incorporation of real sand. Because this is small, not all of the cremains would fit (and she was a chihuahua/shih tzu mixed breed). It was also super helpful to have more than one set of hands in the transfer process.
Arrived very carefully packaged with clear instructions. Filled it with Lake Michigan beach sand for a friend who moved away. He loved it.
I wanted black but they were out of stock:( Anyway, I do like the white one and it works well:) It's very simple, but nice looking and does the job!!

This purchase has been in the making for quite awhile now. It has been several months since my daughter Lisa took me to a Dr. appointment which is where she saw & fell in love with "the hour glass." Since her birthday is July 20, I ordered it for her. It came, it was beautiful, I loved it, she loved it. Since she has a cat it could not be left out on a counter so she put it into a display cabinet, unfortunately in doing so it fell & broke. She is sick about it as am I but since I am 91 & on SS I cannot afford another one. I am sure & hope this is not the kind of review you receive often. Thanks!

I just received this the other day. It was very well packed. The blue sand looks better than in the picture. I use it for meditating when I want to get away from all the electronics, and it's very soothing. This is my second purchase from JH and I'm thrilled with both of them.

Product came as expected. Looks great and runs well. I still haven't done a precise timing because I forgot to check my stopwatch promptly, but it does land somewhere in 30-35 minutes, which is great for me.
Beautiful wooden frame but incorrect description. The actual measurements are 5 7/8"Dia x 9"Tall (not 6x10 inches as described). I'm old but can still read a tape measure. I don't mind paying for quality but I do expect to get what I pay for. This hour glass was considerably more $$ than others on the web. I convinced my wife to compromise because she wanted one 12" tall. We were both disappointed when it arrived! Quality seems to be there but the honesty isn't.

They are handblown and vary by length so the hourglasses usually are usually in the 10' range (some shorter, some taller), thus the number. I got great service with the order, but I didn't realize it was so small. I was under the assumption that I could put all the human remains in it, but it's just like a keepsake.
Beautiful product. I love that it was made from reclaimed wood. I had engraving done and it still arrived very quickly.

I bought this several months ago for my wife to help her keep track of those time alligator conversations at work. I got this idea from a review left for a different hourglass and thought it was brilliant. If someone wants to talk non-business, start the timer. Once five minutes are up, so is the chit-chat. If it’s work related, takes more than 5 minutes, and you are otherwise busy, wrap it up and schedule a meeting. Simple, elegant, visual for all to see. I ran multiple time tests, and the 5 Minute Antique Wood Tea Break Timer Hourglass runs an average of 5:10 (+3%, 97% accuracy).

Received the hourglass in excellent condition. Read the instructions and realized that I needed to buy some fine grain sand to enable the ashes to flow easier. The amount needed is so small that maybe this provider could include purchasing this small amount to complete the hourglass. I finally found a small jar of sand at Hobby Lobby. Overall, I am very pleased with the look, quality and craftsmanship of this hourglass urn. I bought this for my mother-in-law's cremains and gave it to my daughter. She had a special relationship with her and misses her daily. She lives thousands of miles away and now she'll have this hourglass to remember her "MeMe" with love.
